Knowledge of the software and tools

It is important that you keep good knowledge of the tools and software which a designer needs to know. Without good knowledge of the same, you simply cannot impress the people hiring you. You need to get good revision about all the software and tools prior to entering the interview room. It would look very bad on your part if you do not have good knowledge of the basics. Hence, basics must be clear.

Bring the best work you have

In the duration of your graphic design course, you must have created some work of your own. Make sure to bring the best ones you have made so far. This would be like a sample of what you are capable of. Also make sure that you bring out designs from various genres and themes. This would convince the interviewers that you are versatile and capable of doing more.

It is essential for designers to create great samples of their work while they are still learning.

Appear Confident

Confidence is a self built concept. In interviews, you do not have to necessarily be confident. Just appearing confident would be more than enough. You need to embark as someone who is fit for working in professional environments and would be able to coordinate with other people. That does require a certain amount of positive confidence.

If you get nervous in front of people then practice speaking in front of mirrors. That would brush your skills even more.

Do not play over smart

If you do not know the answers to any question then do not play over smart. Accept that you do not know the answer and ask for apologies. You need not play over hyped. They will be able to figure that out. In addition to that, accepting your drawbacks would make them like you more.
Just say that, 'Sorry, I am unable to recollect the answer at this point. My apologies.' This would help them respect you more.

Keep your calm at all times

No matter what happens, do not lose your chill. Stay calm and composed throughout the interview. Have a body language that says the same. Staying calm in your posture and behavior would mean a great deal in making a good impression for yourself.

All the best!
